Last week was a good one in the U.S. Senate.

On Wednesday we passed the Chips and Science Act, which will result in major investments in cutting-edge technologies like AI, quantum computing, and advanced clean energy technologies. It's going to bring home the manufacturing of critical semiconductor chips, lower costs for consumers, and fuel scientific innovation and jobs.

I worked on several key provisions in the bill and, while it didn’t get a lot of attention, this is a key step in sharpening America's edge in the global economy — especially important as many of our competitors have taken big leaps forward.

Other news was the HUGE breakthrough this week on our plan to turbocharge the deployment of clean energy so we can confront the climate emergency and lower costs for Americans. As then-VP Biden liked to say, this is a Big #x$*!%g Deal — it will not only help achieve a 40% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, it also provides Medicare the power to negotiate lower drug prices for Americans, extends premium support payments under the Affordable Care Act, and much more. This week's agreement was huge, but we still have a fight on our hands to get to the finish line!

As we approach this Sunday's 100 DAY mark before the November 8 election, the events of this week are a stark reminder of what having just one more vote in the U.S. Senate can mean for real progress. Think about how much we can accomplish if we can keep a Democratic majority in the House and expand our Democratic majority in the Senate 100 days from now.

We need to keep on fighting and make every one of those 100 days count!
