64%.
That’s the percentage of Americans who didn’t want Roe v. Wade overturned, according to a PBS NewsHour/NPR/Marist poll.
That’s likely the percentage of Americans — if not more — disappointed in the 195 Republicans, including Michael Guest, who voted against the Right to Contraception Act.
At least Representative Guest showed up for the vote. That’s saying something, considering his awful congressional voting record.
However, if passed, his vote poses danger to the safety and health of women everywhere.
It’ll become harder for women, especially low-income folks and women of color, to access birth control pills, IUDs, or Plan B. Healthcare providers could be penalized for providing contraceptives.
In a state with the highest maternal mortality rate in the country, such barriers toward reproductive care will become a death sentence. That’s on Guest’s watch.
STAND UP AGAINST DEATH SENTENCES FOR WOMEN [[link removed]]
No one, especially men, should have the arrogance to tell a woman what to do with their body. A woman’s reproductive decisions must remain between her and her doctor. Full stop.
That’s what Shuwaski Young, Democrat for Mississippi’s 3rd Congressional, is ready to fight for on Capitol Hill. If you’re with the 64%, can you chip in $64 towards Shuwaski’s campaign? [[link removed]]
