Have you ever received an email from a political campaign asking you to make a donation and all you could think was, "What difference does it make?"
I know the feeling. But I'm here to tell you that is never the case with our campaign, and it's not the case with this email. It makes all the difference in the world.
Let me explain why:
On Sunday night, we close the books on our July fundraising numbers. This marks the FINAL monthly deadline before our August 23 primary — before ballots are cast, counted, and a winner is declared.
What we raise between now and then will have a huge impact on the kind of investments we can make in the final weeks of this race: How many ads we can run, the number of staff we can hire, and how many people are going to hear Alessandra's message for bold progressive change.
We're not taking a cent of corporate PAC money, so it's the response of supporters like you to emails like this that makes all the difference. And right now, we're pacing behind the number of contributions we need to reach our goal before Sunday.
Our job this morning is to close the gap. Your $3 contribution can help us do that. So we're asking:
The honest truth is that the vast majority of the donations we receive come from emails, text messages, and people organically looking to be a part of this campaign.
