John, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is doing something dangerous.
The DCCC is spending money in Republican primaries to support far-right Trump Republicans because corporate Democrats *think* they have a better chance of beating the dangerous, extreme GOP candidates.
It’s misguided, it’s wrong, and it’s dangerous. This is yesterday’s headline in the New York Times:
The Democratic Party should NOT be spending close to half a million on advertising that promotes Republican candidates. And that’s just the money they’ve spent in ONE Michigan Republican primary. Democratic groups have helped Trump’s candidates in Arizona, Pennsylvania, and elsewhere.
Democrats shouldn’t be trying to orchestrate a result in a Republican primary that they think will benefit their chances in November. It’s dangerous and it could very well help elect worse Republicans to Congress.
If the Democratic Party spent time and money promoting the policies that matter to the people, we wouldn’t see news stories like this. But the DCCC is more concerned with what corporations and Wall Street want. That’s how it raised $40.7 million last quarter from big corporate donors. With your support, we can raise a tiny fraction of that, defeat corporate Democrats, and transform the Democratic Party.
The DCCC’s tens of millions will go towards advertising campaigns supporting Trump-endorsed candidates and electing corporate Democrats that don’t support Medicare for All or a Green New Deal. The political status quo is broken, John.
Justice Democrats spends our grassroots dollars on electing champions for the people and working towards transforming the Democratic Party — so we have a party that works for the people.
Can we count on your support, John? Help us fight back against the DCCC’s corporate-backed campaigns with a donation today. $3 will fuel our work to re-elect the Squad, expand our JD bloc in Congress, and transform the Democratic Party.
We appreciate anything you can give and all the ways you support our movement. We know we can only do this together with you.
In solidarity,
Justice Democrats
