Extreme abortion bans may not currently be dominating the headlines, but they haven't disappeared.

Just this year alone, more than 300 bills restricting abortion rights have been introduced in state legislatures across the country. But, it doesn't have to be this way.

Last month, Ohio legislators introduced a measure that would, if passed, become one of the most restrictive abortion laws in the country.

The bill creates a new felony called "abortion murder," making people who have or perform abortions subject to life in prison.

And that's just one bill in one state. There are a wave of similar bills being introduced across the country.
