In other training news, we were thrilled when our Head of IPS, Julie Bailie, was presented with the 2022 International IPS Excellence in Training Award in Detroit, USA.

The award recognises Julie’s substantial contribution to the creation of training courses in the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model of employment support and the delivery of training to staff working in IPS across the UK and parts of Europe.

Julie has been employed at the Centre for six years, initially as a leader in one of our IPS research sites, and for the last four years as our Head of IPS training. The award is well deserved since Julie has taken developed new courses, expanded IPS training beyond mental health services, delivered practical training in Employer Engagement, and in addition has contributed several sections to the IPS Grow e-learning course.

The award recognises Julie’s inspirational leadership and her unique ability to communicate information, coach and mentor staff to develop their own confidence and experience. We are very proud of her.
