Friends,

This week, the partisan January 6th Committee continued their smear campaign to distract Americans from the real issues our nation is facing. Despite eight hearings and millions of taxpayer dollars spent, no concrete evidence or new information has been brought forward. This committee is nothing more than a Hollywood-produced side show peddling hearsay and should be disbanded immediately.

While the January 6th Committee was trying to distract you from Nancy Pelosi’s radical agenda, liberals in Congress passed legislation this week that would restrict offshore oil and gas activities, increase compliance fees for oil companies, and spend hundreds of millions on Green New Deal policies. The United States is facing the worst energy crisis in decades and the left continues to prioritize policies that will only make it worse.

Instead of advocating for failed socialist policies, it’s time to focus on the state of our economy, the ongoing border crisis, and the United States’ diminished position on the world stage. I will continue to push back against the left’s radical agenda in Washington.

Take my survey below and keep reading for more information on what’s happening in Washington.

Respectfully,

HOUSE REJECTS GOODEN AMENDMENT TO CUT RECKLESS SPENDING

On Tuesday, House Democrats voted to reject my amendment to the 2023 spending bill that would strip $301 million in funding for the Biden Administration’s environmental justice programs. The administration claims these programs are designed to help working-class families in underserved communities. Yet instead, they fund ridiculous climate justice organizations, including a Massachusetts-based nonprofit that uses storytelling to increase awareness of the benefits of trees. Working-class Americans are struggling to make ends meet because of the ongoing inflation crisis, but President Biden wants to spend millions to teach them about trees.

DEMOCRATS ADVANCE “ASSAULT WEAPONS” BAN

The House Judiciary Committee passed legislation on Wednesday that would ban assault weapons in the United States. This legislation would ban nearly all semi-automatic weapons, magazines, and firearm accessories like semi-automatic triggers and suppressors. This legislation would do nothing to prevent gun violence in the United States and is just another attempt by the left to infringe on Americans’ Second Amendment rights. We should be focused on addressing the pandemic of mental illness in our country, not going after law-abiding gun owners. I strongly oppose this legislation and will vote against it when it comes to the full House of Representatives for consideration.

“These Big Tech companies have gotten to the point that they own the government, in a sense,” Rep. Lance Gooden, co-chair and co-founder of the Freedom From Big Tech Caucus, says, adding that “people are tired of being censored, of being policed, by Big Tech.”
