Hey John, I wanted to follow up on my message from last week with an update for you: A federal court just ruled in favor of Georgia Republicans, and Georgia’s extreme abortion ban will now go into effect immediately.

I’ll be honest with you John, this news hurts. This legislation will result in needless danger and suffering for Georgia women who are now unable to obtain the reproductive healthcare they need .

With this in mind, it’s more clear than ever that our best way out of this is to flip Georgia blue in 2022. Will you split a donation between my campaign and Stacey Abrams’ campaign for Georgia Governor to support our grassroots efforts and win back the Governor’s seat for Democrats for the first time since 2004? I’ll get right to the point – Georgia Republicans are trying to ban abortion in our state. If they're successful, abortion will remain illegal in Georgia unless we elect Democrats this November.

In 2019, the state passed HB 481 which would criminalize most abortions after six weeks of pregnancy – before many women even know they’re pregnant. Now that Roe v. Wade has been overturned, Georgia Republicans are going to attempt to put their abortion ban into effect later this summer.

That’s why it is so crucial that Democrats win back statewide power in Georgia in our November elections – it is the only way we can ensure abortion remains legal in Georgia for the forseeable future.
