Marking the Grand Opening of the New Center for the Women of New York

On Saturday afternoon, I joined the Center for the Women of NY to celebrate
the grand opening of their new center in Fort Totten, Bayside!

This renovated space will serve as a meeting place for local groups and a
living museum dedicated to women’s history and culture. Proud to see it
become a reality!

This Paw-liday Season: Adopt, Don't Shop!

With the holiday season upon us, many may be looking for a new four-legged
friend to join the family. For the next month, we will highlight two furry
companions seeking forever homes who are being cared for by local
nonprofits.

Please consider adopting this holiday season - and every season!

🐾🐾🐾🐾

Meet Honey!

A staff member writes: "Hi All! People call me Honey and I'm as sweet as my
name. I will greet you with tail high and head-butt you a lot. I enjoy all
petting, especially chin scratches. If you give me treats, I would probably
prefer your attention over them but eventually eat them. My friends at the
care center blow catnip bubbles to me because they know that I love to see
and play with them. I'm very pretty and just patiently waiting here for my
furrever home!"

Meet Bacci!

A volunteer writes: "Did someone order a little brindle meatball? Because
that's me, Bacci! I'm a lovable, 1-year-old guy that you can practically
put in your pocket. I have a very expressive little face and an
irresistible waggy bottom that will melt your heart. As you can see, my
head tilt game is on point. Speaking of games, I love to have fun! I love
chasing the ball and getting the zoomies. I'm a very curious little guy and
I walk nicely on leash, investigating all the smells along the way. I also
love affection and I don't mind wearing sweaters! Don't I look handsome?
Please come visit me at the shelter so we can start having all kinds of
good times together."
