marriage was created by God and it's worth fighting for

You can file this under "things you aren't supposed to say out loud." You can tell me this "isn't good politics." But there are moments where you stand against the tide and say, "I don't care about the politics...we aren't done fighting."

Let me be clear: God made marriage. He made marriage to be a covenant between one man and one woman. He made it sacred and special. And it is worth fighting for. No matter the culture. No matter the politics. No matter the prevailing winds. Frontline is an organization committed to God's Design for the institution of marriage.

Yesterday, the United States House of Representatives voted to enshrine same-sex marriage in federal law. Forty-seven Republicans joined the Democrats in voting for the legislation, and there is a very real chance it passes the Senate and is signed by President Biden.

The effect to this legislation would do nothing right now and would only matter if the Supreme Court were to overturn Obergefell, as Justice Clarence Thomas expressed an openness to doing. Moreover, here is the reality: our culture is not with us on this issue anymore. We have lost the battle for hearts and minds, and we have a long way to go if we ever hope to win them back.

When I go speak places, I rarely bring up marriage - it's not something that is in the realistic short-term objectives of this organization. However, I cannot let this moment pass by without declaring that we will not give up the fight, and, as we seek to reclaim our culture, we will not give up championing the glorious institution of marriage.

While this legislation has zero effect on your life, there is something so overwhelmingly startling and sad that our nation's representatives have chosen to shake their fist at God with their vote. My prayer is that the Lord will continue to show us mercy in the face of such hostility to Him and His good plan for His people.

This message is not a political email. It's not one that is a topic in any upcoming election or something that is present in the regular political dialogue. But I write this to encourage you, Christian, to not give up on God's Design for marriage.
