** 10 REASONS TO VOTE MICHELLE DONELAN
------------------------------------------------------------

** 1. 50 MILLION MORE APPOINTMENTS IN GP SURGERIES EVERY YEAR
------------------------------------------------------------
Locally we have experienced too many delays waiting to see a doctor. That is why I have pushed the Secretary of State for Health to do more to support market towns and the challenges that we face with GP access.

My campaigning has worked - there will be 50 million more GP surgery appointments under a Conservative majority government. This will be via 6,000 more GPs & 6,000 more nurses, physiotherapists & pharmacists by 2024-25. The NHS is a priority for me - I will always fight for more investment to improve services.

** 2. GET BREXIT DONE
------------------------------------------------------------
I voted remain but I believe in democracy. I have consistently voted for Brexit since the referendum. We need to give business the certainty to invest in the UK and get back to focusing on schools, hospitals, the environment and tackling crime.

The PM's deal allows us to leave the EU & maintain a strong working relationship. Labour want to call another referendum which would take up to a year & cripple business meaning job losses. The Liberals want to revoke & have said this would still be their position even if they held their second referendum & leave won again.

** 3. MORE MONEY FOR OUR SCHOOLS
------------------------------------------------------------
Education has always been my priority and passion. I successfully campaigned for more money for our schools so primary schools will now get a minimum of £4,000 per pupil and Secondary £5,000.

I was recently appointed as an Education Minister and have made improving SEND provision one of my key priorities. Over the last four years I worked hard with local businesses and Wiltshire College to expand the number of apprenticeships on offer locally.

** 4. PROTECTING OUR PLANET AND ENVIRONMENT
------------------------------------------------------------
I have been and will continue to be a strong voice in Parliament when it comes to tackling climate change, reducing single use plastics and strengthening animal welfare. I will also continue to stand up for our farmers and their livelihoods.

I am pleased with my part in the successful campaign to get companies to remove plastic from tea bags. I love doing environment workshops with our local schools. I will continue to push for us to do more to promote and support green energy and electric vehicles - two areas that will make a massive difference.

** 5. MORE POLICE OFFICERS ON WILTSHIRE STREETS
------------------------------------------------------------
I have organised several crime forums across the constituency. Anti-social behaviour and a lack of police presence has come up repeatedly especially in relation to concerns about County Lines.

I have campaigned for more police officers for years and welcomed the Conservative announcement of 20,000 more Police officers. Wiltshire Police have already started to recruit more Officers. If re-elected I will ensure that we get our fair share of the 20,000.

** 6. STOP CORBYN FROM BECOMING THE NEXT PRIME MINISTER
------------------------------------------------------------
A vote for the Liberal Democrats would help Corbyn to become our Prime Minister. Vote for me for a committed, accessible, approachable and hard working MP and also prevent Corbyn from gaining power.

Corbyn would cripple our country - but the danger is he could win by the 'back door.' A vote for the Liberal Democrats could enable this. Don't risk a Corbyn government - vote Conservative to secure our future.

** 7. PROTECTING VETERANS FROM PROSECUTION
------------------------------------------------------------
We need to end the shameful prosecution of our Veterans and a Conservative majority government would do this. We will amend the Human Rights Act 1988 to specify that it doesn’t apply to issues that took place before the Act came into force in October 2000.

I have always pushed for us to offer our Armed forces and veterans more support. We would introduce 'wraparound' childcare for armed forces families, a guaranteed job interview for Veterans for any public sector role they apply for, and a proposed tax cut for every business that employs veterans.

** 8. TACKLING CONGESTION AND IMPROVING LOCAL TRANSPORT
------------------------------------------------------------
I have worked with local villages to try to tackle speeding. For Bradford on Avon I have managed to get Wiltshire Council to agree to model different solutions so we can finally deal with the congestion and impact on air quality. Corsham station is now part of the LEPs strategic plan for a few years time but I have been working with Transport Ministers to find a way to accelerate this.

For Chippenham I have helped secure £75 million which will include a ring road to alleviate congestion. I have fought for government money to tackle Bumpers Farm congestion. In Melksham I have worked with TransWilts to expand the number of trains & improve the station. I have supported the Bypass in Melksham but expressed concerns regarding the location.

** 9. SAFEGUARDING LOCAL JOBS AND THE ECONOMY
------------------------------------------------------------
The Conservative Party has and always will be the party of the economy. I have championed our area for businesses to relocate to and tried to tackle local skills gaps by organising the Wiltshire Festivals of Engineering, Design and Technology.

I try to visit on average two businesses a week to help support local job creators and listen to their needs. I have worked hard to promote apprenticeship schemes to our local business community and many more local people now have the opportunity to learn and earn.

I recently held a 'Disability Confident' event to raise awareness amongst local employers about the government scheme to encourage the recruitment of disabled people and those with health conditions. I believe in an inclusive society where we all have the opportunities to succeed.

** 10. ACCESSIBLE, APPROACHABLE AND HARDWORKING
------------------------------------------------------------
I will continue to passionately champion our community and be accessible, approachable and hardworking.

The last few years have been unprecedented, but I have always put our constituency first and worked hard to deliver for you. I do not believe any problem is too small or too big for an MP to take on so from parking charges to homelessness I have been on the case.

I regularly organise local events to help residents such as debt advice workshops, Over 55s events, & Crime Forums the list goes on. I hold surgeries in supermarkets, cafes, pubs, village halls plus my closed appointment ones. I also have stands at fetes and carnivals - all to be as accessible as possible.
