Established pursuant to Subchapter C, Chapter 57, Texas Occupations Code, the Regulatory Compliance Division conducts an independent review of certain state agencies? rules that affect market competition to assess their consistency with state policy as clearly articulated by the Legislature in state statute.
The Regulatory Compliance Division has recently issued a determination letter for the following rule:
- Texas Optometry Board, Title 22 Texas Administrative Code ?273.17 (RCD Rule Review #2022-006)
The division has approved the proposed rule, which requires all initial applicants for and applicants for renewal of an optometrist or therapeutic optometrist license to complete a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or basic life support (BLS) course.
