Team —

Last month, the Supreme Court decided to overturn Roe v. Wade, wiping out almost fifty years of legal precedent and jeopardizing the health and safety of millions of Americans.

We’re already seeing the impacts of this disastrous decision take effect. Several states have banned abortion entirely, and many women have to travel hundreds of miles just to get the basic health care that until recently, was protected nationwide.

The outlook for the future of reproductive rights in a post- Roe world may look uncertain now, but let me be perfectly clear: Our fight is far from over, and we’re not giving up.

Leaders across the country, including NC Governor Roy Cooper, are taking steps to secure abortion access in several states for now, but we can’t stop here. It’s critical that we pass legislation to protect reproductive rights no matter where you live.

Last week, my colleagues and I passed the Women’s Health Protection Act because we’re all in to defend the right to choose, and we won’t stop fighting until we’ve restored these fundamental rights to all Americans. And because we know far-right Republicans won’t just stop at overturning Roe, this week, I’m working to pass a bill that protects access to birth control and the right to contraception.

The government, the Supreme Court, and far-right Republicans have no right to tell women how to make personal decisions about their health care, their bodies, or their futures. And I won’t stop fighting until we’ve restored fundamental rights and freedom to all Americans.

If you’re with me, add your name to my petition calling on Congress to not only pass legislation that will restore the right to choose nationwide, but also protect women against future right-wing attacks by safeguarding the right to contraception. [[link removed]]

Thank you for standing strong with me.
