We’ll get straight to the point: our race in Vermont is shaping up to be
one of the most consequential in the country. Democrats hold the slimmest
of Senate majorities, meaning one race could decide control.

McConnell from retaking power?

National Republicans have targeted
Vermont as a must-win state—and we know they’ll spare no expense to win.
In fact, they’re on a spending blitz to the tune of $141 million to take
back the Senate, and with the Senate split 50-50, they only need one seat.

Just imagine a world where Mitch McConnell becomes majority leader again.
Our progress will be set back decades. He’ll block President Biden’s
nominees and continue his decades-long project of packing the federal
courts with extreme conservatives. He’s even said he’d consider passing a
national abortion ban.

Everything—voting rights, Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, lowering
prescription drug prices, reproductive justice, racial and economic
justice, everything—stands no chance at getting passed under a
McConnell-controlled Senate. The other side is fighting for failure.

Peter’s ready to fight for
us on Day One, but he can’t do it alone. National Republicans have their
chosen candidate—a Trump appointee—and they’re trying to flip this seat so
they can advance Mitch McConnell’s interests, not Vermont’s. Let’s come
together and send a message that we won’t let them.
