Everyone knows it, including the cartels, who are coaching illegal immigrants on how to exploit loopholes, contributing to the worst border crisis in decades. That’s why I introduced legislation to get at the root of this problem. My bill closes those loopholes and prevents abuse by mandating asylum be made at a port of entry, prohibiting anyone who illegally entered the United States from claiming asylum after the fact, and establishing offices so migrants can claim asylum in a third country before they reach our borders. It’s just one of several practical solutions I will be introducing in the coming weeks to address the crisis at our southern border. But ultimately, we cannot begin to address this border crisis while Nancy Pelosi is Speaker of the House. "As we all know it evoked images of some of the worst moments of our history where that kind of behavior has been used against the indigenous people of our country, has been used against African Americans during times of slavery.” That was Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, respectively, lying about the actions of Border Patrol agents doing their jobs to stop a flood of illegal immigrants from crossing into our country. Well, it seems like Jussie Smollett is advising the Biden White House now. Because just as Jussie Smollett lied about Trump supporters assaulting him in the middle of the night in Chicago, Biden and Harris lied about Border Patrol “whipping” illegal immigrants. Yep, the Biden administration admitted that Border Patrol agents were falsely accused of “whipping” Haitian migrants in Texas last year. But they were punished anyways for “foul language” and using horses to stop illegal immigrants from crossing our border. It’s no wonder the morale of our Border Patrol agents is the lowest it’s been in recent memory. This administration does nothing but degrade law enforcement at our border and encourage the rampant illegal immigration that makes their jobs impossible. It’s time for Joe to apologize. Nearly 30% of post-9/11 veterans are diagnosed with PTSD, which can lead to suicide and other serious mental health challenges. That’s why we should use every tool in our toolbox to win this fight. One of those tools might come as a shock to you: the use of psychedelics. Now I know hearing the word “psychedelics” might make you think of acid trips from the 60s. But that’s not what we’re talking about here. What we’re talking about is a scientific, proven use of psychedelics to treat PTSD. Research in the private sector has shown that, following the use of MDMA, 88% of trial participants show significant reduction of PTSD symptoms and 67% no longer had PTSD. Those are incredible results. Unfortunately, under current law, active duty service members cannot stay in uniform while seeking psychedelic treatment for PTSD. That’s why I introduced legislation that passed the House this week to provide a grant program for active duty service members to seek psychedelics treatment for PTSD while remaining in uniform. This is a small step in the right direction to get help to the men and women who have sacrificed dearly for our country. Watch the video above to learn more.
