Republicans’ arguments against impeachment keep coming up short, whether it’s that there was no quid pro quo (multiple witnesses testified there was) or that what Trump did was not a crime (Constitutional scholars testified that he committed multiple impeachable offenses).
It may have something to do with the fact that their entire GOP leadership is embroiled and connected to the Ukraine scandal and cover-up. Even Devin Nunes, the ranking GOP member on the House Intelligence Committee, tried to uncover the identity of the whistleblower without disclosing that he was involved in coordinating the quid pro quo in the first place (though we know the GOP doesn’t really care about federal law if it gets in their way of pushing a false partisan agenda).
On Wednesday, Republicans on the Judiciary Committee again tried to subpoena the whistleblower, but House Democrats blocked it. We’re running a rapid response poll, and we need to hear what voters like you think of this new development NOW:
