Serving Broward County and Floridians everywhere in our State Senate has been the honor of a lifetime – even when things get really tough up in Tallahassee fighting against the divisive, radical GOP agenda. 

This fight is personal. And as a working mom of two young kids, I know how much is at stake.

I bring my kids with me to Tallahassee for legislative session each year. They remind me what’s most important, and why I’ve made fighting for mothers and children my top priority as your State Senator.

As a survivor of sexual abuse, I’ve been fighting since I was 17 years old to protect kids in our community. And as a Senator, I’ve expanded Medicaid TWICE for new moms and babies.

I’ve worked to enact comprehensive, common sense legislation to keep guns out of our schools and off our streets. 

And as the Leader of the Florida Senate Democrats, I’ve led the charge to fully fund public schools.
