John, folks who
support abortion rights from every wing of the Democratic Party have
rightly criticized President Biden’s lackluster response to the Supreme
Court overturning Roe v. Wade. What does the administration do in
response? It pretends that progressive activists are the only ones calling
them out.

This is what the White House Communications Director said in the
Washington Post: "Joe Biden’s goal in responding to Dobbs is not to
satisfy some activists who have been consistently out of step with the
mainstream of the Democratic Party. It’s to deliver help to women who are
in danger and assemble a broad-based coalition to defend a woman’s right
to choose now, just as he assembled such a coalition to win during the
2020 campaign."

John, those words
are insulting for a number of reasons. First, Pres. Biden responding in
full to secure abortion rights is a concern of all people who care about
health care and reproductive rights in this country, not just activists.
Second, activists were a major part of the coalition that helped elect
Biden in 2020.

This is not a winning message in a midterm election year. The mainstream
Democratic Party cannot take action to protect our rights, fight climate
change, and guarantee the health and safety of all people in this country
when it’s too busy attacking progressives.

Justice Democrats is fighting back. [ [link removed] ]John,
can you donate $3 to help
us elect leaders who will FIGHT unequivocally for the people? We are
nearing primaries where we must lift Cori Bush, Rashida Tlaib, and Jamaal
Bowman to victory. We need their fight, their activism, and their advocacy
for us in Congress.

We can’t just vote our way out of a broken status quo in November. Because
solving the crises of our day will require organizing, fighting, and
electing BETTER Democrats — not just the same old Democrats.

Nancy Pelosi supported anti-choice Democrat Henry Cuellar in a primary
against pro-choice progressive Justice Democrat Jessica Cisneros. And in
the face of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, Biden took weeks to
issue an executive order on abortion access and it’s still not enough.
Now, the White House is trying to blame activists for criticism of Biden’s
lackluster action.

How can the Democratic establishment expect us to fight for a party that
criticizes activists, scapegoats progressives, and tries to stop young
progressive women of color from representing the people in Congress
instead of corporate donors?

We will always fight back against a corporate-backed Democratic Party
trying to sell us on the status quo. The status quo isn’t enough, and it’s
well past time that we transform the Party and see transformative change
in this country.

[ [link removed] ]Donate $3 right now to help us stand up for our
progressive fight and elect leaders who will fight for us. We’re up
against a Democratic establishment with unlimited funds from corporate
Super PACs and Wall Street mega-donors.

We will continue our activism, no matter what the Democratic establishment
thinks.

In solidarity,

Justice Democrats
