Workshops and Fight Back for Abortion Rights!

📋 Abortion Fund Canvass this Saturday 7/16! 📋

The Atlanta City Council should set up an abortion fund to help our most vulnerable neighbors pay for life-saving healthcare. Abortion is healthcare and a human right, not a privilege. Atlanta's elected officials have a responsibility to stand up for working people and fight back against the Supreme Court's anti-democratic assault on our reproductive rights.

Saturday, July 16 at 5 PM, join us to knock doors, talk with neighbors, and gather petition signatures in support of the city council proposal to allocate funds to pay for travel and medical expenses for Atlantans seeking abortion care. We'll also be sharing abortion resources and information. This event will happen rain or shine! ⛈

🌹 TONIGHT: Protect Abortion Training #1 🌹

Tonight, @ 8:00 PM - Join us for an in-person watch party of part one of DSA's national Protect Abortion Training — a two-part training on the implications of Roe v Wade's overturning and how we as socialists can organize to fight for abortion rights. Snacks will be provided!

This is the first of a two-part training series. The first call will be an overview of the legal and political landscape and an introduction to tools for assessing your own community and state: who has power and where does it come from, who is active on this issue both allies and opponents, etc.

RSVP to watch on zoom OR join us for an in person viewing at 711 Catherine St SW.

We'll be holding office hours before the screening from 6 - 8 PM. Feel free to come by early to ask questions, learn how you can get plugged in, or volunteer for phone banking, data entry or other tasks.

✊ Social Reproduction Workshop 7/13 ✊

Marxist social reproduction feminism provides a way to talk about the emancipation of workers and the emancipation of women as a single liberatory project.

Join us Wednesday July 13 7-8pm at 711 Catherine St SW,  for a discussion of ideas drawn from Marx, Engels, Angela Davis, and 21st century Marxist feminists.
