Congresswoman Lesko Weekly Update

Good Afternoon,

I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July weekend! I had a great time this week speaking to hundreds of patriotic constituents in Sun City, AZ at their annual Independence Day celebration.

It was a pleasure to speak at the Ring That Bell Ceremony in Sun City, AZ as we celebrated the greatest country on earth!

The Sun City Poms put on a fantastic performance as they danced to "God Bless America!" These ladies are immensely talented!

I also had a fantastic time ringing Arizona’s very own replica of the Liberty Bell at the ceremony to celebrate 246 years of freedom!

Lesko Demands Answers on Americans' Delayed Tax Returns

Image

I joined Congresswoman Lisa McClain’s (R-MI-10) letter to Internal Revenue Service Commissioner Charles Rettig to demand answers on Americans' delayed tax refunds. At a time when people are struggling to afford gas and groceries, it is crucial that Americans receive the tax refunds that they deserve in a timely manner!

Lesko Stands Up for the Well-Being of Schoolchildren

Image

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) could withhold funding for school meal programs unless schools promote the gender ideology of the radical Left. I joined Congressman Ralph Norman’s (R-SC-05) letter to USDA Secretary Vilsack to raise concerns on this policy from the Biden Administration that puts partisan priorities over the well-being of young children.

GET THE FACTS: President Biden Continues to Deplete Our Nation's Strategic Oil Reserves

Image

Did you know that President Biden has sent over five million barrels of oil overseas from our Strategic Petroleum Reserves (SPR)? The SPR is meant for emergencies, such as natural disasters. At a time when millions of Americans across the nation are struggling to afford to fill up their gas tanks due to President Biden's soaring gas prices, it is shameful that Biden is giving away our emergency oil supply to other nations. The SPR is at its lowest level in over 35 years because President Biden has used it to cover up for his failed energy policies. President Biden is jeopardizing our energy security and putting America last!

Around the District

Austin from our office attended a ribbon cutting for Elements Massage in Anthem, AZ. Elements Massage is a veteran-owned and operated business that specializes in health and wellness.

Casework Highlight

A constituent contacted my office because he had still not received his 2020 tax refund. We contacted the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), which then processed the tax return and refunded the constituent.

Encouraging Story

I am pleased to share this inspiring story about fifteen-year-old Nikhil Sethi, who is committed to helping homebound adults in our community. Nikhil gets groceries and assists those who are unable to go out and get food themselves. It is great to see the young people in our community stepping up to help those who are in need of assistance.
