Dallas, TX – Yesterday, DFW Airport was awarded $35,000,000 in grants from the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Terminal Program. This funding will go towards a Zero Carbon Electrical Utility Plant, which will assist in the airport's goal of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2030. I am thrilled for DFW Airport to receive this important funding to replace aging infrastructure. By securing this funding, we are ensuring one of the largest airports in the country – and a major economic generator in North Texas – can address energy by taking a balanced approach and creating solutions without heavy handed regulations. I signed on to two bipartisan bills this week that address the hazing crisis plaguing American campuses. The REACH Act would create a federal definition of hazing, require universities to include incidents of hazing in their Clery Act reporting, and provide students with educational programming related to hazing. The END ALL Hazing Act would require universities to maintain a page on their websites that discloses student organization violations and allows students and parents to make more informed decisions about which student organizations are safe to join. On Thursday, I had the opportunity to tour the Ben E. Keith Company, the third largest beer distributor in the country. They shared with me the difficulty of finding new trucks due to supply chain issues and licensed drivers. I recently joined Rep. Troy Balderson's letter to Department of Transportation Secretary Buttigieg to streamline the licensing process for prospective drivers and alleviate the supply chain crisis. You can read more on our letter here. I had a great tour with the Traffic Management Centre and enjoyed discussing how we can better manage congestion across the metroplex. Rep.
