** Hello Friends!
------------------------------------------------------------

Just dropping a note for those of you who live in New Mexico to let you know about a spree of events in Santa Fe this month, holiday or otherwise, to support our organization. Come on out and say hello and give us a high five or a hug. If you aren't from New Mexico.... Santa Fe is a gorgeous place to spend the holidays. Come for the social justice events and stay for the farolitos, the pinon smoke, and the x-mas huevos rancheros. Looking forward to seeing everyone out and about!
* First up, December 7th is the String of Lights Holiday Market ([link removed]) from 5-9 at the Farmer's Market. This is an amazing place to get holiday presents from local artists and makers including SFDP goods like our coveted FLM tees and our newest Melt ICE pint glasses, not to mention treats from our own favorite Chef Dhiru!
* On December 11th at 5:30 pm at our office in Santa Fe (1213 Mercantile Rd) there is a pop up installation of PERIPHERALSHELTERS ([link removed]) which is a week of creative action bringing together artist and community organizations to ask questions about shelter, hope, trust, and system failure within Santa Fe. This event is presented as part of Santa Fe Art Institute's 2019 StoryMaps Fellowship and seeks to center the work being done in our peripheries and the people whose lived experiences are pushed to the margins of the city. Featuring the work of our artist-in-residence Hazel Batrezchavez and Sylvia Johnson among many others.
* Then, on December 14th, SFDP, along with the New Mexico Art Therapy Association, is hosting a letter writing party for the folks who are detained for the holidays in the the immigration jail in Cibola County, NM. Come by our offices at 1213 Mercantile Rd from 2-4 and let some people know they are not as alone as they think.
* Later that same day, on December 14th, Meow Wolf is hosting their annual Ugly Sweater Party ([link removed]) at 1352 Rufina Circle from 3-5. You can pair your party ticket with a visit to the House of Eternal Return too! They are teaming up with our favorite Santa Fe Firefighters Local 2059 to have a great time and fundraise for SFDP. See you at Savers hunting for ugly sweaters....
* December 15th brings a more introspective event: The I Am Project: Earth in Action ([link removed]) , an evening of performances and presentations to bring out the light as we edge deeper into a season of darkness. This event is curated to connect, inspire and mobilize people to action around issues concerning the environment, social justice and mental health by bridging earth based-spirituality, the arts and activism. This is a fundraiser for SFDP and promises to be a one-of-a-kind evening. 6-9 pm at the Swan Theater, 1213 Parkway Dr.
* Finally on December 29th, Tumbleroot (2791 Agua Fria) from 6-8:30 there is the 2nd Annual Benefit Concert for Santa Fe Dreamers ([link removed]) . Come out and enjoy the music and have a couple drinks and eat Tumbleroot's stupidly delicious mac n'cheese. The first annual concert was a total blast last year.

If you can't keep track of this feel free to follow SFDP on social media or check back with our events calendar ([link removed]) (which isn't quite up to date yet... but seriously, we have case work to do between all these parties). If we don't see you out and about, have a very happy holiday!
