Instagram to collect ages in push for youth safety and alcohol ad dollars
Facebook Inc.’s Instagram said it will require birth dates from all new users starting on Wednesday, expanding the audience for ads for alcohol and other age-restricted products while offering new safety measures for younger users. A group of State Attorneys General from around the country recently called on Facebook and other companies to develop stronger measures to protect children from alcohol ads online.
A Belgian beer a day keeps the doctor away, study says
if a recent study is correct, you should skip the probiotics and drink Belgian beer to help treat your stomach woes. At least that’s what Eric Claassen, a professor who specializes in microbiology and probiotics at Amsterdam University, is suggesting. According to Claassen, strong beers can be very good for gut health when consumed in moderation.
BJ’s Wholesale Club serves up premium private-label liquor
Following its introduction of own-brand wines earlier this year, BJ’s Wholesale Club has rolled out a line of premium liquor under its Wellsley Farms label. The spirits line includes vodka, Canadian whisky and Irish whiskey, and will be available at clubs in states where BJ’s is permitted to sell alcohol.
