John,
When we go up against the political establishment, we know that we’ll almost always be outspent. Entrenched incumbents take corporate PAC contributions and we leave millions of dollars on the table by refusing to do the same.
Jessica Cisneros lost by less than 300 votes. We came up just short. Jessica’s race would’ve been different if Nancy Pelosi hadn’t campaigned for an anti-abortion incumbent and the establishment hadn’t spent millions to stop a progressive women of color.
If we had just a little more money, there’s a real chance we could have lifted Jessica to victory.
We’ll be transparent with you, we had a tough month on fundraising last month and now we need to seriously pick up the pace before Cori Bush, Jamaal Bowman, and Rashida Tlaib have their primary elections.
We need more Democrats in Congress like AOC, Jamaal Bowman, and Cori Bush who will fight for policies and legislation that match the scale of the crises we face. We don’t need any other Democrats who will side with the NRA or vote against codifying Roe v. Wade into law.
We appreciate anything you can give and all the ways you support our movement. We know we can only do this work because of you.
In solidarity,
Justice Democrats
