We celebrate this 4th of July with a huge victory for our veterans!

Happy Independence Day, Friend

Let’s celebrate the strength, determination, and perseverance of our nation, and all the people who make it great!

This 4th of July, I’m proud to announce a huge victory for our community and for veterans across New York City:

We have won the fight to keep our local VA hospital open and operational!

This past March, I led a bipartisan effort of state and local officials in advocating to VA Secretary McDonough to keep the Brooklyn VA open.

Veterans from near and far depend on the Brooklyn VA to access a variety of health and medical services, including mental health care, emergency services, and general medical appointments.

Our brave veterans who have risked their lives and their health for our country deserve high-quality healthcare in their communities, and I am proud that, because of our efforts, they will continue to be able to receive that healthcare at the Brooklyn VA.

I want to especially thank Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer for his steadfast commitment to making sure the VA stays open.

I wish every one of you a Happy 4th of July! Let’s continue to uplift and give back to the folks that work so hard for our country, like the brave veterans here in Brooklyn and beyond.

Hope you’re enjoying the holiday,

Andrew
