Governor Hogan Honors Last Remaining World War II Veteran After His Passing
<[link removed]>

Governor Hogan Posted On Social Media This Week Honoring Hershel "Woody"
Williams. See Below.

"We are all deeply saddened by the passing of Hershel “Woody” Williams, the
last remaining survivor of World War II servicemen awarded the Congressional
Medal of Honor, the nation’s highest award for valor.

In 2016, Woody and I came together at the Gold Star Families Memorial
Monument dedication in Annapolis. Getting it built was a high priority for our
administration.

After 20 years serving as a Marine, Woody Williams went on to spend over 30
years giving back to veterans across the county as a veterans service
representative for the Veterans Administration. Woody’s unwavering dedication,
heroic actions, and commitment to his country and fellow men and women in
uniform will never be forgotten."
