‌ ‌ WEEKLY UPDATE July 1st, 2022 Dear Kansas friends, Thank you for your interest in receiving my newsletter. Please feel free to share this with your friends and family. My Statement on the Dobbs v. Jackson Decision This is a monumental win for pro-life Americans across our country who have been fighting tirelessly over the last fifty years to protect the most vulnerable among us—the unborn. Democrats' extreme abortion-on-demand agenda does not accurately reflect the views of most Americans. Overturning Roe ensures state and local officials closest to the people they represent, not unelected judges in Washington, construct our nation’s abortion laws. Unfortunately, this welcomed ruling won't protect life in Kansas. It's now more important than ever that Kansans reaffirm our commitment to protecting the unborn and vote to pass the Value Them Both Amendment to guarantee our state does not become a hub for unlimited abortions. Offering Real Solutions to Combat Gun Violence Congress must work to prevent violent crime while also defending the 2A rights of all law-abiding American citizens. I am proud to cosponsor multiple pieces of legislation to prioritize mental health, secure our schools, and disincentivize criminal activity in our communities. Watch HERE Visiting KwiKom Communications Great stopping by KwiKom Communications in Iola this week. KwiKom provides internet, telephone, and TV services to homes and businesses across dozens of counties in Kansas. Supporting Kansas Agriculture I am proud to support the Reducing Farm Input Costs and Barriers to Domestic Production Act to offer real solutions to the challenges impacting our agriculture industry. This bill will bring down record-high input costs, reverse President Biden's harmful regulatory burdens, and provide much-needed certainty to the hard-working Americans that feed, fuel, and clothe our nation. Read more HERE Biden's Open Border Policies Harm Americans and Migrants Why would the White House end the Remain in Mexico policy? Over 2.9 MILLION illegal immigrants have crossed our southern border since President Biden took office. This policy is vital to securing our border and strengthening America's national security. Read more HERE This is heartbreaking. The human trafficking taking place at our southern border is a direct result of President Biden’s lack of action. What's it going to take for Democrats to secure the border and end this humanitarian crisis? Read more HERE Biden's Energy Agenda is Directly Responsible for Record Costs President Biden vowed to end American energy dominance and now Kansans are paying the price. The White House needs to stop passing the buck and accept that their failed policies are the reason Americans are paying $5 per gallon at the pump. Watch HERE Inflation Worsens Under Biden Last year the Biden Administration celebrated saving Americans 16 cents on their 4th of July cookout supplies. This Independence Day, Americans will spend 17% more at the grocery store than in 2021—not to mention the cost of gas to get there. Inflation caused by the Biden Administration continues to hurt all Kansans. Skyrocketing inflation caused by President Biden’s failed economic agenda has forced 25% of Americans to postpone their retirement. Inflation is a tax on all Kansans and is especially devastating to folks living on a fixed income. We must pass the Inflation Prevention Act to give Americans much-needed economic relief. My Statement on Democrats' Gun Control Package I voted NO on Democrats' gun control package. I was elected to protect and defend the Constitutional rights of law-abiding Kansans. The Safer Communities Act clearly infringes on our Second Amendment right to bear arms and right to due process. This bill funds "red flag" laws with taxpayer dollars, needlessly singles out Americans under 21, and criminalizes routine firearm transactions. The recent shootings we have seen occur across our country are tragic, and the root causes must be addressed. I am proud to have cosponsored multiple pieces of legislation to put forward real solutions to help solve the mental health crisis facing America and better secure our schools. I will continue to work with my colleagues to prevent violent crime while also defending the Second Amendment rights of all law-abiding American citizens. Helping Students Affected by Shutdowns I'm proud that the House passed the Restoring Hope for Mental Health and Well-Being Act last week. This bill will help reverse the collateral damage caused by prolonged school shutdowns and provide support to children struggling with mental health & substance abuse issues across Kansas. ‌ ‌ Rep.
