SEE HOW WE CAN AMPLIFY OUR IMPACT BY JOINING FORCES!

_With your help we will continue our great work. _

Dear John,

Ntarupt [2], The Texas Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy [3], and Healthy
Futures of Texas [4] have joined forces to create the Texas is Ready
coalition.

Our latest charge is to help schools and communities implement the new
sexual health education curriculum standards established by the State Board
of Education. Over the past two years, Texas is Ready has yielded
tremendous success.

Our most significant achievement is that beginning in the 2022-23 school
year, sex education must include information on contraception and STI
prevention at the 7th and 8th-grade levels. This will IMPACT 834,000
STUDENTS each year, and that 100% OF TEXAS SCHOOL DISTRICTS will be
required to teach an abstinence-plus sex ed curriculum, INCREASING THE
NUMBER OF DISTRICTS OFFERING THIS CONTENT BY NEARLY 600%.

To support schools, parents, and communities, Texas is Ready has:

* Developed a suite of resources on WWW.TEXASISREADY.ORG [5] to provide
all of the information school districts or charter schools need to meet the
new curriculum standards effectively.

* Delivered 27 webinars to 690 local advocates and created resources for
parents and caregivers to understand the laws, sex ed requirements, and how
to get involved in the process.

* United 21 school districts (and growing!) in a community of practice to
support implementation.

We have a lot of work to do to make sure school districts are prepared to
implement not only the new minimum standards but aim to implement
high-quality sexual health education Texas students need and deserve.

TO CONTINUE OUR WORK WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT! Let's join forces to ensure that
all Texas youth have the education and resources they need to reach their
full potential. Please consider a donation today.
