Dear friend,

This has been a big month, so I wanted to look back on it all and share a few thoughts.

This month we celebrated Pride Month. What started with the Stonewall Riots has now resulted in parades across the country, with people proudly living as their true selves and celebrating who they are.

We also commemorated Juneteenth. We honored freedom and resistance and celebrated the victory against slavery.

Unfortunately, we ended this month with the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, the most blatant attack on reproductive rights. Here in Harrisburg, things aren't much better. Yesterday, the PA Senate passed Pennsylvania's Don't Say Gay bill (SB 1277) and a Book Ban bill (SB 1278), which targets LGBTQ+ children and educators and will make our schools a more hostile place for those who are the most vulnerable.

{FirstName or 'Friend'}}, this month has been quite a rollercoaster, from celebratory festivities for Pride and Juneteenth to protests for reproductive rights. At the heart of all of this, though, is equality — equality to love and live authentically, equality before the law, equality to make decisions.

This fight for equality is something we all get to partake in, whether it be in our schools, in our communities, or in our workplaces. We all have the opportunity to call out bigotry and seek out solutions to create a more equal society.

And friend, that is what I am doing in Harrisburg. While bad actors are bringing horrible bills aimed at rolling back rights, I am fiercely fighting to protect the progress we’ve made and push onward toward a more equal Commonwealth for all Pennsylvanians.

But I can only continue in this fight for all if I win my re-election in November.

My last election was a narrow win, so we really have to dig deep to secure a win in November. We’ve got to volunteer, vote, and mobilize like our rights depend on it — because they do.

Can you please make a contribution to support my campaign and help me continue in this fight for equality?
