The right-wing Supreme Court striking down abortion rights―which we have
fought for and held dear for decades―was not about state’s rights. If it
was, this same Supreme Court would not have simultaneously struck down New
York’s concealed carry gun law, which helped keep residents safe in public
spaces such as grocery stores and subways.

When Mitch McConnell stole two Supreme Court seats―first by denying
President Obama’s nominee in 2016, then by rushing through Trump’s nominee
in 2020―Republicans fomented a far-right majority on the court with the
goal of taking away our rights and implementing their anti-abortion,
pro-gun, and pro-billionaire agenda.

They have succeeded. But this fight is far from over.

We need to fight back through activism and elections. Right now, we have
Wall Street and cryto-billionaires attempting to replace progressive
members of Congress with Wall Street Democrats and buying elections in
swing districts and states.

Justice Democrats is a critical ally in our fight to expand progressive
power in Congress by electing more working people and BIPOC candidates who
have the lived experience of millions of marginalized people.

Because of re-districting, I’m running for re-election in a new district
in Michigan. And, a billionaire-funded super PAC has committed to spending
at least $1 million in an attempt to defeat me.

They’re threatened by my leadership on human rights and holding the rich
and powerful accountable.

Every dollar donated to my re-election campaign is going toward reaching
voters in our new district through door knocking, phone and text banking,
community events, mailers, and TV, radio, and digital ads.
