Because this is the year of parents, the CAGOP launched Parent Revolt, a program dedicated to recruiting and supporting strong Republican candidates to run for local education offices. Parents matter, and providing a quality education that supports students and families is our top priority, not advancing the radical agenda of left-wing groups, special interests, and teachers' unions.
Education offices are nonpartisan, yet even in regions where Republicans outnumber Democrats, we have ceded school board seats to liberals and given up a seat at the table simply because we haven't had a candidate in the race. It's time for that to change.
We saw parents step up and make their voices heard in last year's Virginia governor's race. We even saw it in our state when frustrated parents recalled several San Francisco school board members in February. This is our year to impact California children's education up and down our state.
