ON JAN 6 SELECT COMMITTEE MATTERS
------------------------------------------------------------
The January 6 Select Committee and their supportive media are rightfully making a big deal of the alleged witness tampering that Liz Cheney noted. But to be fair the DOJ often builds much of its case using witness tampering.

For example, DOJ gave two dozen persons immunity from prosecution to testify against me in my case and threatened another person by reminding him he could be indicted were he to testify in my defense. This is extreme witness tampering.

In truth, witness tampering is called cooperating with the prosecution when the government does it to get the testimony it wants. But it is called a crime if a defendant tampers to get testimony he or she wants.

The flaw is that prosecutors are presumed to be good honest people and the accused are assumed to be guilty. The truth is quite different. Federal prosecutors are often really bad people with far too much power to convict innocent Americans.

My prosecutors (Steve Ruby and Booth Goodwin) committed intentional prosecutorial misconduct. It is also indisputable that they lied to the Judge and to the DOJ Office of Professional Responsibility. They are not good people.

The Department of Justice Office of Responsibility even wrote in their review of my prosecution that were Goodwin and Ruby “still employed by DOJ they would have recommended that they be disciplined”.

Most Americans would consider being “disciplined” by your employer pretty mild punishment for attempting to imprison an American for the rest of his life while knowing the American is innocent.

As to Congress and the Jan 6 Select Committee they want to do what King George did after the Boston Tea Party. Identify people to punish rather than identify what the government did that caused the riot.

As for the Committee's commentary about the rioters being armed that is a proper and understandable concern. But, in fairness, the only gun that killed someone on Jan 6 was owned by the government and it killed an unarmed woman.
