We knew that the insurrection on January 6 was the result of a heavily planned plot against our democracy, John. But did you know that some members of the Treason Caucus asked for preemptive pardons?

A few days ago, the January 6 Committee revealed a list of the Republican leaders who knew that in supporting the “Big Lie” they were breaking the law. Here are just a few of the names on the list: *

>Representative Matt Gaetz, who asked for a pardon "from the beginning of time up until today, for any and all things." (According to testimony from Trump officials.)

>Mo Brooks of Alabama sent an email to the Trump administration asking for pardons for ALL 147 members of the Treason Caucus.

>Not only did Representative Andy Biggs from Arizona pressure the Arizona House speaker to decertify the results of the 2020 election, but he also asked for a blanket pardon for his crimes and shady dealings.

>Finally, just days after the January 6 insurrection, Scott Perry from Pennsylvania asked for a pardon from the administration for his role in attempting to overturn the election.

These people were so complicit in the coup to destroy our democracy that they knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that they would be facing the wrath of the law, but instead of backing down, they chose to continue on their treasonous path.
