John,

I hope you are holding up okay following Friday’s devastating decision handed down by conservative Supreme Court justices overturning Roe v. Wade and denying abortion rights. Since then, a lot of people have been asking me: What can I do as a result of this decision? What are you doing to right this wrong?

Here are just a few things I’m working on right now:

  1. Pressing the President of the United States to take definitive action to protect women's access to medical abortions, to get resources for women who are seeking abortion care, whether it's for childcare or travel expenses, and to use the power of federal agencies to protect women's safety, women's rights over their own bodies, and access to critical abortion care.
  2. Finding a path forward for legislation that will affirm Americans’ rights to seek abortion care and reproductive care, enshrining the Roe v. Wade into federal law.
  3. Working to elect more pro-choice Democrats. We need more senators willing to overcome the filibuster to protect reproductive rights and more. You can chip in right now to help me protect senators already willing to get this done, and flip other seats from red to blue.

What can you do?

  1. Volunteer, organize, get involved with organizations that are on the grassroots, helping to overcome Dobbs, helping to serve people who are most impacted.
  2. Contribute whatever you can to some of these organizations who are financially strapped right now, and really in need of resources. You can split a donation between organizations working in states with laws that automatically banned abortion when the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. 100% of your donation goes to these organizations.
  3. Call your senators and representatives and push them to pass legislation enshrining abortion rights into law.
  4. Get involved in this next election in November to make sure that Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy don't get the chance to try to pass a national abortion ban, and we actually have a Congress that will protect women and affirm the right of every human being over their own body and that will reestablish Roe v. Wade as the law of the land.

All of this is just a start, but if you join me in even one of these actions right now, I know that ultimately, together we will overcome Dobbs, and together we will rise.

With Gratitude and Strength,

Cory
