John, it’s primary day for Justice Democrat Kina Collins in IL-7! Here’s what we’re up against:

President Biden endorsed Kina’s opponent just 2 days ago. It’s a sign of desperation when a corporate Democrat needs the President to intervene in a Democratic primary.

Nancy Pelosi has been campaigning and fundraising for Kina’s opponent for months. Corporate super PACs have spent at least $500,000 against Kina. Fossil fuel companies, private prison groups, and big Republican donors have all made big contributions to try to defeat Kina and our movement.

It’s big corporate money, the President, and the Speaker of the House against us in IL-7. The powerful and the wealthy in this country are doing all they can to stop Justice Democrats. A win today for Kina would shake up the political establishment once again, at a time when it really needs to be shaken up.

Shouldn’t the White House and Nancy Pelosi focus on defeating Republicans in November? Shouldn’t they focus on acting in the face of abortion rights being stripped from tens of millions of people, instead of trying to stop Kina? Shouldn’t Biden and Pelosi be siding with the people instead of corporate donors?

The last week, the last year, and the last decade have shown the Democratic Party has its priorities severely mixed up. We don’t need party leaders lining up with big corporations to protect incumbents because they’re threatened by change. We need new voices and genuine fighters for the people like Kina in Congress.
