john,

We know the last three months have been dark ones — seeing constitutional rights overturned and the worst mass shooting in a decade have been heartbreaking.

As we wrap up our second quarter since winning the primary, it’s clear the stakes are higher than ever.

That’s why we’ve set an End of Quarter Goal for this campaign that is both ambitious and specific, because we want to make sure we have exactly what we need to gear up for the summer.

We’ve set a high bar for ourselves — we want to raise $16,076 by midnight on Thursday. Can you jump in now and contribute whatever you can towards our goal?

Here’s what we were thinking about when we calculated our End of Quarter Goal:

1. What do we need to do to go into the rest of the summer stronger than ever?
There are a lot of eyes on this race, john. This race has quickly become the most competitive district in Texas and our opponents will be watching to see what our numbers look like going into the next quarter. We need to send a message that shows just how serious we are about fighting for Texas.

2. How can we respond to attacks from our opponent?
This part of the race is where things are getting messy. The GOP, the NRA, and dozens of other corporate and special groups have a lot riding on Tony Gonzales. They’re scared of what this campaign means for them — that’s why they are ALREADY attacking us. Our opponents are trying to discredit the strength of our campaign and we need to be prepared to respond to any attacks they try to throw our way.

3. What resources do we need to reach as many voters as possible on the ground?
Moving forward, voter contact is the most important thing we can do — but this part of campaigning isn’t cheap. We need resources to be able to make phone calls, knock doors, pass out literature, and get John around the district to talk to people.

Going into the rest of summer, we need your help to finish out this quarter strong and hit our $16,076 goal. If you have the means, will you donate now to help us gear up for the coming months?

Let’s get to work,
Team Lira
