Dear John,

On Giving Tuesday, we have a tradition of giving thanks to our community. Thank you for investing in the urgent work of helping children living in poverty have the best chance at a successful life.

We especially want to thank those who stepped up to help us meet our $10,000 Giving Tuesday Book Match Challenge. And if you haven’t made your gift yet, there’s still time!

KPMG’s Family for Literacy has agreed to extend their match for one extra day so we can get as many books and resources to children in our programs as possible!

Your gift could help provide books like "Mouse Count" by Ellen Stoll Walsh. This book is a favorite for Educare Chicago Librarian Anne-Marie Akin to read to her students because it helps present foundational math concepts—like number sense and attributes—in an innovative way outside of just counting. This is a great example of how books can help develop needed early learning skills, including literacy.

When you make a gift of $10 or more before midnight tonight, not only will it be MATCHED with funds for books and educational resources, but you’ll also help provide:
- Doulas to help first-time parents build strong bonds with their babies before birth, encourage prenatal care and offer ongoing support during and after birth.
- Home visits from parent coaches to help young parents create a safe, healthy and enriching environment for their children.
- Quality pre-K education to young children from under-served communities to ensure they have the best possible opportunity for success in life.
- Research on child development, family engagement and instructional methods that improve early childhood experiences for children and families.
- Educator training programs based on research that help early childhood professionals deliver high-quality learning experiences to drive better outcomes for children and families.
- Policy and advocacy efforts to help policymakers understand the benefits of and the science behind early childhood education.
