John, this week I was thrilled to attend the St. Louis Pride parade.

I was so inspired and moved by the love, joy, and spirit within the LGBTQ community.

I witnessed so much genuine happiness at Pride, but I know this month is not only about celebrating. It is also about remembering the sacrifices that LGBTQ people and advocates made to create a world where we can all marry who we love and live as our truest selves.

So during Pride Month, we honor those who worked hard so that we can celebrate today, and we commit ourselves to organizing in the face of challenges still ahead. 

I promise that when I serve in the Senate, I will always listen to the concerns of the LGBTQ community, defend our hard-earned rights and freedoms, and serve the interests of ALL Missourians. Together, we can create a truly inclusive, welcoming country to everyone who calls America home.
