Friend,

As you’ve likely seen, last week the Supreme Court overturned Roe vs. Wade. An unelected, unrepresentative, and unbalanced Court stacked with far-right justices has taken a sledge hammer to 50 years of legal precedence protecting abortion rights.

Texas is no stranger to reproductive rights being under assault. But now, under new state law, abortion will be criminalized as a felony, with no exception for incest or rape. Texas Republicans like Greg Abbott, Dan Patrick, and Ted Cruz applauded the decision, and even hinted at going further to criminalize those who seek abortion care outside the state.

Like you, we’re enraged by this decision and by the corrupt, right-wing politicians in Texas who have fought for this for years. But we won’t sit back as an increasingly illegitimate, runaway Court obliterates fundamental human rights.

Ground Game Texas remains focused on fighting for progressive change in our state, including unseating far-right politicians who passed laws criminalizing abortion. For the next five months, we will be doing everything in our power to organize and mobilize voters ahead of the midterm elections.

We will put progressive policies on the ballot, register thousands of new voters, and mobilize them to turn out on Election Day. That’s how we fight back and flip our state, from the ground up.

We’re so thankful to have you on our team for this fight. We know that decisions like these are demoralizing—but together, we can unseat politicians who undermine our rights and deliver progressive change for our state.

Thank you,

Ground Game Texas
