Dark money forces are watching our race to see if we’re weak enough to attack.

Friends,

Here’s the situation.

The quarter ends in four days. Shortly afterward, we’ll publicly report all our fundraising data, as required by law.

Those reports will be snapped up by a handful of Super PACs allied with our opponent, and they’ll see if we’re weak enough to attack.

They want easy targets: candidates who don’t have broad support, who aren’t generating much enthusiasm.

If they think we’re an easy target, they could pour millions into this race. Just countless millions, all into attack ads.

In that scenario, my opponent — who doesn’t even live in the district — wouldn’t have to raise a dime. Outside groups will put him on their shoulders and fund enough attack ads against me to buy the election for him.

Sound impossible? Folks, it happens allll the time.

Our campaign, by clear contrast, is overwhelmingly a grassroots effort.

Small dollar donations have given us a war chest — and it’s those same contributions that make us a hard target for the dark money folks.

Your support will go toward all things that make a campaign run — field teams, signs, ads — but it will also be a show of force for the outside groups who would love to swing a wrecking ball into this race.

It doesn’t take much, honestly. If you can do $10, $15 or $25, that would be great.

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

Thanks for your support, as always.

Best,
Jeff
