Team,

Now that the Supreme Court has overturned Roe v. Wade and reproductive rights are left in the hands of state legislatures, we have to prepare for the anti-choice legislation that Harrisburg Republicans will try to pass.

Team, with a Republican majority in the Pennsylvania House and Senate, Pennsylvania is at risk of severely restricting, or even banning, access to safe reproductive healthcare.

A Pennsylvania in which abortion is banned is no longer a dystopian nightmare - it is on the cusp of being our reality. And if that happens, people will suffer. People will be forced to go through with unwanted pregnancies, to travel long distances to access reproductive healthcare or to seek unsafe, back-alley abortion services.

Earlier this month, Pennsylvania Senate Republicans brought SB 956 under consideration, which seeks to add a constitutional amendment eliminating the right to an abortion. This bill would open the floodgates for extreme, anti-choice legislators to strip fundamental rights from Pennsylvanians.

This will not be happening in some red state halfway across the country; this will be happening in our state, in our communities, in SD38. This will not be happening to complete strangers; this will be happening to you, your family, your friends and your neighbors.

With the recent SCOTUS decision, reproductive rights are in the hands of state legislators. As a state senator, I have fiercely fought for and defended the fundamental right for everyone to make their own healthcare decisions. But right now, there are not enough legislators to block legislation restricting reproductive rights.

With your help, Democrats can take back the Pennsylvania House and Senate and defend your right to safe and accessible reproductive healthcare. We have to elect more Democrats and defend the seats of those, like me, who are currently in office. Can you please support my campaign to defend everyone’s right to make their own healthcare decisions?
