We haven’t met yet, but now we have to. Yesterday changed things.

I'm Laney, and I run Jeff's finance team.

Friends,

We haven’t met.

I’m Laney, and I run Jeff’s finance team.

You don’t hear from me much but I’m reaching out today because yesterday Trump’s Supreme Court ruled to strike down the fundamental right to choice.

Like millions of people in North Carolina, this issue is incredibly important to me. I was the founding member of my college’s Planned Parenthood support network. Now I’m working on a campaign to make sure we elect someone who will defend reproductive rights (that’s Jeff) and not someone who will tear them down (that’s Jeff’s opponent).

I want you to see the straight line between this campaign and our best chance to defend reproductive rights, which is to pass a law at the congressional level to codify the protections of Roe.

The most important thing we can do in response to this Supreme Court ruling is help get allies elected to Congress so we have the votes to pass a law that implements the protections of Roe.

Jeff’s record has been strong on this issue for years — that’s one of the reasons I work for him.

I’m the money person on this campaign, so let me do my job for a second:

We’re going to get hit hard by negative ads and we have to be able to define ourselves and overcome them. Whether we can do that is up to you.

I know you’re angry. So am I. Please channel it somewhere productive and let’s add a voice that will lead on this issue.

Thanks for being part of a strong, effective response to a dark moment for our country.
