Friend,
When the Supreme Court’s draft decision leaked earlier this year previewing the end of Roe v. Wade, we promised you: we would identify and fuel more campaigns like our fight in Michigan to codify reproductive freedom through the power of direct democracy.
Now that SCOTUS has formally overturned Roe, the urgency to protect reproductive rights at the state level has never been higher. That’s why in addition to our work in Michigan, we’re partnering with our friends in Vermont to power this fight directly to the ballot box.
Vermont’s Reproductive Liberty Amendment will be on the ballot in November and give voters the opportunity to amend the state constitution to protect every person’s right to make their own reproductive decisions, like whether and when to become pregnant, use temporary or permanent birth control, or seek abortion care.
For years, direct democracy has helped us to change lives. And now that SCOTUS has failed us, we must use this tool to protect access to some of our most fundamental rights.
Team, this fight has made its way to the states, so now it’s time for us to do what we do best — win progress directly at the ballot box. Winning in these two states sets the stage for the other 48 to do the very same.
Our elected officials may have failed us, but we still have the power to do something truly history-making. If you’re with us in the fight to secure all of our reproductive freedom once and for all, please power our work at the ballot box today.
