Hi John,

The decisions made by the Supreme Court in the last week have significantly diminished the safety of the people of this country. 

The court overturned Roe v. Wade, taking away the fundamental rights of people’s bodily autonomy today, and additionally struck down New York’s law to limit guns in public. This body of unelected, lifetime-appointed judges has ruled that deadly weapons should have more rights than anyone with a uterus. These decisions will create a dangerous environment for marginalized communities, where guns are prevalent and human rights are not recognized.

We need to make our communities safer and combat these decisions at the state level by getting guns off our streets and protecting reproductive rights for all who seek it in New York State. 

If you’re looking for direct action to attend in response to the court’s decision today, I’ll be at Washington Square Park at 6:30 pm, wearing green in solidarity with those fighting for Reproductive Justice across the world.

As a community organizer and candidate for New York State Senate, I stand with all those impacted by these decisions. I will do everything I can to enact meaningful changes to combat these rulings and create a safe environment for everyone.
