Shannon Liss-Riordan for Attorney General

John,

By now I’m sure you’ve seen that the Supreme Court has ruled to overturn Roe v. Wade.

This is a direct attack on every American’s fundamental rights and freedoms— and we know the court won’t stop there. Let me be clear: it is no accident that we arrived at this day. This is the result of years of coordinated efforts on the part of extremist, out-of-touch Republican officials.

I am outraged and horrified, but I am ready to take action to support those who need it the most — as I have always done.

That’s why, unlike my opponent, I’m not exploiting this moment to raise funds for my campaign, but am asking you personally if you will give to the National Network of Abortion Funds right now. 100% of your contribution goes directly to their efforts to provide access to abortion as it becomes even more prohibitive in the coming days.

DONATE

Here in Massachusetts, thanks to the work of organizations like Reproductive Equity Now, Planned Parenthood, and reproductive justice activists across the state, we have the Roe Act, which codified abortion rights into law.

But now we need to do everything we can to protect and expand access to abortion care and ensure Massachusetts as a sanctuary state for people seeking abortion care.

In this moment it is absolutely critical that we have an Attorney General who has experience in these fights, who won’t back down, who will work to protect EVERY American’s right to safe, private abortion services.

As a civil rights lawyer who has worked on litigation to protect reproductive freedom since my time in law school, as a co-founder of the Third Wave Fund, a national organization to empower young women and provide resources for intersectional gender justice movements, I am ready to lead on abortion rights as Massachusetts’ next Attorney General.

In the meantime, if you have not done so yet, will you make a contribution to the National Network of Abortion Funds to support communities across the country working to provide this critical care?

John, this isn’t over. We must continue the fight for reproductive access today, tomorrow, and every day after. I promise you that I will always stand with you and never back down.

In solidarity,

Shannon Liss-Riordan
