Friends,

Today, the United States Supreme Court released a historic decision affirming the U.S. Constitution does not guarantee the right to an abortion. Roe v. Wade was wrongly decided nearly fifty years ago, and I am proud of the five Supreme Court justices who stood up to protect life, despite facing death threats, attempted assassinations, and protests outside their homes for months.

Additionally, yesterday the court struck down a New York law that prevents carrying a firearm outside the home, confirming your Second Amendment rights do not end once you leave your house. I strongly support the Second Amendment and Americans’ right to concealed carry and signed an amicus brief arguing the New York law was unconstitutional. I am glad the court agreed with me.

While the conservative movement won two hard-fought victories this week, Nancy Pelosi pushed legislation through Congress on Friday that will restrict Americans’ constitutional right to bear arms. The so-called “Bipartisan Safer Communities Act” is a foot in the door for nationwide gun grabs, and I proudly voted against it.

Respectfully,

BIDEN MUST STAND UP TO CHINA

China has rapidly expanded its military presence in the Pacific, putting our national security and allies at risk. During the Trump Administration, the United States’ tough-on-China policy was working. Now, thanks to President Biden’s policy of appeasement, China is emboldened, and the United States is more dependent on Chinese products than ever before. I sent a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Thursday requesting he explore ways to leverage our allies and partnerships in the region to stop China’s expansion.

GOODEN PROTECTING SMALL BUSINESSES FROM BIG TECH

Due to a loophole in the law, Big Tech companies are permitted to offer financial services, such as loans and holding deposits, but they are not required to follow federal standards or regulations. This gives Big Tech a huge advantage over small, community-owned banks in rural areas. On Thursday, the House Committee on Financial Services passed my legislation protecting small banks from being run out of business by Big Tech. I will continue fighting to protect Americans’ data, small businesses, and free speech from these corrupt tech companies.

House GOP warns of China's 'rapid expansion' in Indo-Pacific as Biden admin lays out vision for the region

FOX NEWS

"Republican Rep. Lance Gooden led Republican colleagues Nancy Mace, Ken Buck, Lisa McClain and Louie Gohmert in a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken, which was obtained by Fox News. It warned that if China is "left unchecked," the U.S. and allies 'will be unprepared and unable to respond to China’s presence in the region.'"
