John,

Our Senators heard you loud and clear. Your calls, texts, emails, and overwhelming support helped push forward the bipartisan bill that will help prevent gun violence and fund mental health services. Your support also allowed us to be on the ground building public awareness and support for these key issues. After passing the Senate, we expect this bill to pass the House and be signed by President Biden — a monumental step for preventing future gun related deaths.

But, there is still more work to be done. With the passing of this bill we now need to hit the ground running to make sure that North Carolina is taking advantage of the funding incentives and the key provisions this bill puts into place. We will need to organize and build a state-level coalition to enact red flag laws here in NC. Can we still count on you to make sure no more lives are tragically lost to gun violence?

We also need to ensure we elect good leaders to make sure our concealed carry weapons permitting system is kept in place following the recent Supreme Court Decision, New York State Rifle & Pistol Association Inc. v. Bruen. Without it, 18 year olds with no training and no background check could carry a hidden loaded weapon in public. Can we count on you for a one-time gift or monthly contribution to the NCGV Action Fund?

You have already helped make a difference in gun safety and prevention efforts. We can’t lose steam now. Join us in ensuring these key changes make their way to NC.

Together in this fight,
Becky

P.S. Prefer to make a tax-deductible donation? You can make a tax-deductible gift to support our community-based work at NCGV Education Fund instead. Every dollar counts!
