We just learned that in a 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court has overturned Roe v. Wade.

Our world is fundamentally different than it was just a few days ago. And I know that many of you are feeling hurt, angry, frustrated, and so much more.

I am, too. But team, I’m also motivated to fight.

We’ve seen hundreds of thousands of people across the country standing up to fight for the right to an abortion. And I know that momentum won’t stop any time soon.

From day one, I’ve pledged to defend a woman’s right to choose in Nevada, and that doesn’t change today, tomorrow, or in the future. As long as I’m your Governor, the right to an abortion will remain safe in Nevada.

When I was first running for Governor in 2018, I made it known that I support a woman's right to choose. It is a decision between a woman and her doctor, and her faith and her partner and whoever she wants to be a part of it. But it is not something for the government to decide.

That’s why I signed a law to protect reproductive freedom in Nevada. It was a particularly proud moment for me to know that here in Nevada, we protect a woman’s right to choose to make her own decisions about her own body.

But Republicans here in Nevada, and nationwide, will roll back that progress.

So while today might feel scary, I hope you will remember that this fight is not over. This fight is more important than ever.

The majority of Americans support the right to abortion and if we all stand up and fight for it, if we elect pro-choice leaders to office, we can right this wrong. We can ensure abortion access is protected across America.
