John,
We operate on a pretty tight budget, especially compared to other political organizations. It’s because we run solely on donations from grassroots supporters like you. We don’t and we won’t ever take a cent from corporate PACs.
Our average contribution this month is just $15.97. And we’re proud of that number because it means we rely on a lot of small-dollar donations to fund our work to transform the Democratic Party.
In April, the DCCC raised $11.8 million — that is a whole lotta money to support entrenched incumbents and Nancy Pelosi’s corporate agenda. Our goal this end-of-quarter is to raise 1.01% of what the DCCC raised in April.
We launched Justice Democrats in 2018 after many of our staff members worked on Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign. We were all inspired and determined to find a way to continue the message of Bernie’s campaign through electing a new Congress that truly represented the needs of the people.
From helping AOC win in 2018 to recruiting fearless leaders like Jamaal Bowman and Cori Bush to run and win, we’re making real change and shifting the Democratic Party to truly represent the people.
We’re exactly one week out from our next end-of-quarter deadline, which is especially important for us because of our quarterly budgeting process. Reaching our goal this month will set us up for success for the next three months.
Thank you so much for your support, we’re so thankful that you’re a part of this movement.
In solidarity,
Team JD
