Hey John,
I’m Kiana, an organizer and PSN network member via the International Student Environmental Coalition and for the past year, a member of the Network Support Team. This position has given me invaluable insight into PSN’s vision for a fully decentralized network, the many steps that are being taken to actualize that and how supporting Network Members is consistently at the forefront of our work. I've seen how PSN builds & fosters meaningful relationships, leading to organizing work with tangible impacts on the wellbeing of people and the planet— you making a donation can keep us here. Witnessing the ins and outs showed me how powerful our network culture is and how your dollars will help us continue to build on that.
One of the most important things I’ve learned in my time with PSN is that there's power in numbers— there are no “small” donations because they each make a big impact. If each of you reading this email donates $10, we will exceed our $15K goal, leaving us with extra funds to use for our microgrant programs, to pay our Power Shift 2023 fellows, provide high-quality political education trainings for our network, and to fund the next iteration of Network Support Team members that I’ll be passing the torch to.
Just look at this testimonial my comrade, Young left for the Network:
Working with PSN is special. I knew from the beginning of my involvement with PSN that this was an organization I wanted to support— and I found ways to do that, through donations and convergence planning. Being on the NST, however, is a whole new level of support and engagement that is mutually beneficial (not to mention paid$$) and allows you to see behind the scenes of what a decentralized network that values justice looks like in the day to day. I learned so much in my role on the NST that I will take with me throughout my time in this movement. This is an organization that prioritizes you as a person, before anything else.
Each of you can be part of this movement in a deeper way, no matter how small you contribute. The impressive work PSN has been able to accomplish is the result of people choosing to come together and uplift one another, with material resources being a vital component of this. Folks like yourself who choose to give whatever resources you are able will directly impact young people— not only young organizers like myself and Young, but also the youth we're trying to reach to build a powerful climate justice movement alongside with.
We’re almost at the end of the month, which means we have a short window to reach our $15k goal. Help us get there! To supporting youth together,
Kiana Kerr, Network Support Team member
